When you practice something (anything), you give it consistent time, energy and focus. A spiritual practice is a way to bring your attention back to what you want vs. what is happening in the external world. It is internally-oriented in order to be externally present. Your legacy is both your desired outcome and a way of life that you ‘practice’ daily in your thoughts, words and actions. By coming from your internal center, using your spiritual practice to keep your inner state clear, you ensure each day is the best it can be… and by focusing your attention and using discernment, you progress in that which adds to your legacy each day. A legacy is the outcome of cultivated attention, focused strategically on the ultimate target, for the benefit of others. The by-product of that process is that you live a maximized, fulfilling life.
Creating and then building your legacy is a long-term commitment to giving your values and contributions a structure to survive your lifetime. The first step is to decide what you want to be known for, then reverse-engineering the key milestones of achieving that and using that as your compass in making decisions on a day-to-day basis. Everything you do either adds to or detracts from your legacy. Your focus must be on developing and using the discernment and clarity to inform yourself as you go about what your activities will do in the long run. Every thought, belief, choice and action has the potential to determine the long-term success of your legacy – starting today.
A legacy is something handed down from one generation to the next; in this case, it is how a person can transcend their lifetime to inspire, guide and help others to realize their potential. When you are living from your legacy, you are using that future timeframe as a point of reference for your decisions now. You are setting up the framework of perception and support for those who come after you are long gone. With this long-view perspective, the way you make decisions and the actions you take will likely transform with greater strategy, collaboration and vision. Everything you do not only creates your tomorrows but those of the people you can influence for generations to come.
Ironically it’s when you have responsibilities that you MUST follow your heart! When you are happy, healthy and whole, you have more to give to your responsibilities. It’s when you are going through the motions, repressing resentment and feeling fatigued that you are fuzzy-headed, bitter and lackluster. In that scenario, nobody wins. But when you follow your heart, you feel lighter, happier and energized – and that allows you to have more inner resources, which translates to meeting your responsibilities with more dynamic presence. After all, will your car go anywhere if you don’t fill the gas tank?
There are many signs… if you aren’t happy to wake up and jump out of bed in the morning, if you dread going into work on a regular basis, if your social life isn’t dynamic, if your relationships aren’t fulfilling, if you feel like you could be doing more with your life… you name it. It’s a personal scale of evaluation. However, generally speaking, if you are unhappy, feel stuck or know there’s something more available for you, it’s time to consider Maximizing your life.
Yes. I believe in leveraging great products already created rather than reinventing the wheel. When I find something I believe in, I want to share it with you in case it compels you to take new action. When you click on such a product link, it lets Amazon know that I sent you and I receive a small commission for that referral.
The short answer – no. And I don’t think you want it to because that means you’re 6 feet under the ground! You are here to live your best life, to fulfill your unique potential, to contribute meaningfully and live your Maximized Life. As you get to your next best level, you will discover another one… and then another one. However, you may learn how to take action on your own and not need the support of a Life Maximizer. My intention is to work myself out of a job! But I consider us partners in you achieving your Maximized Life once we begin a working relationship.
Many of my products are found on Amazon because, over time, I’ve discovered them and consider them powerful tools to support Maximizing one’s life. If you click through and purchase a product from Amazon, Amazon’s guarantee backs that purchase.
Yes, with the understanding that you are responsible for your results. For example, if we work together and you don’t take action as agreed, there’s not much I can do about that. I know the power of focus and clarity in creating transformation; my role is to bring that about through compassionate communication and practical action guidance. Your role is to follow through to and do what’s needed to Maximize your life. If you are unsatisfied at any time, we need to work together to understand why and come up with a resolution together.
Growth is uncomfortable. When a company is going through transition, how that process is handled is critical to buy-in from everyone involved. It’s vital to work with leadership in support of spearheading the changes, to work with teams to ensure their dynamic is productive and healthy, and with individuals to ensure they are empowered to contribute for maximum performance. As with any new endeavor, the same mind that created the status quo cannot fix it – there MUST be fresh perspective. Ideally this comes from an objective expert who can see and communicate the bigger picture effectively to Maximize everyone’s input and experience. My personal intention is to ensure healthy collaboration and maximized contribution from all who are involved in corporate, organizational and team growth initiatives.
