Maximize Your Legacy Retreat

Sometimes You Need To Slow Down To Speed Up

A powerful four-day Wednesday to Saturday small group private retreat to ‘e-tox’, get in touch with what really matters and Maximize your vision, presence and impact on your tribes through living your legacy.

You’re a leader. That means you’re supposed to know what you’re doing and present yourself accordingly – a curated, polished presence that inspires confidence and makes things happen.

You spend your days handling the urgencies while the important stuff – like your legacy – waits for you to have time for it. Days slide into weeks and weeks slide into months… you keep going ‘as usual’ but don’t get to what really matters as a result. The ‘treadmill’ of everyday operations can be fatiguing, numbing and never-ending, while your joy (and maybe even your life) feels like it is on pause. Something important is missing and you feel it.

To continue in that way and at that pace serves no one in the end because you run the risk of burn-out. If you’re not feeling your joy, nobody else in your organization will either… and that makes long days feel even longer. Even more, if you’re not feeling pulled toward something bigger (beyond the company mission), your life may not feel as meaningful as it could… and you’re not stepping into the flow of your real contribution – your legacy.

The Masters Did It

A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both.
~ Francois Auguste Rene Chateaubriand (1800’s French Writer and Diplomat)

Any significant achievement in history did not happen on a time clock; instead, it was a labor of love borne of personal passion. The ‘greats’ danced with their genius, taking time to feed their soul while creating their legacy – think DaVinci, Michaelangelo, Beethoven, Mozart, Dickens, Voltaire… the list goes on. (And it could include you someday…!) ;+)

The point is that when you are feeling the flow of your passion, directed toward something that will transcend your lifetime and that is personally meaningful, work and play merge to become your lifestyle.

With today’s fast-paced living, it’s amazingly easy to be separated from what really matters to you (much less live it every day). You can lose sight of how to make ‘it’ all count – your time, your choices, your actions and more. Restriction can feel normal and freedom seem like a dream.

And that’s the point of this retreat…

Let Self-Affinity Guide You

What would happen if you stepped out of your life for four days? Chances are that nobody would die and the sun would keep rising. So what really comes up to prevent you from taking time for yourself?

It’s not the workload (which will always be there, before AND after you) or your staff (who look to you as an example for optimum productivity) or your family (who loves and supports you in your well-being).

Instead, it’s a question of self-affinity. If you would encourage someone else to take four days to get centered, balanced and back on their game but won’t do it for yourself, there’s a disconnect. That disconnect is about your level of trust in the world around you and very likely your worth in receiving that kind of care and taking that time away from your responsibilities. You’re used to being the giver, although you well know that a giver can only give more when they themselves are full. And you put others ahead of yourself because that’s what leaders do.

Except that you cannot take your people to new places if your tank is on empty or if you have lost your way.

In that moment, you must slow down to speed up.

Relinquish, Reflect, Restore and Reset

The ‘flavor’ of this retreat experience is likely to be in nature somewhere, away from cell service and wifi. You’ll likely be building an outdoor fire or rafting a river or star gazing. Maybe we’ll even be on a chartered boat. And you’ll be with a small group of like-spirited leaders who are recharging themselves along with you.

You should know that this retreat isn’t about making to sense to other people or getting them to understand you, your quirks and eccentricities. Rather, it’s about bringing together visionary mission-driven soulpreneurs and then being who you are without pretense or rules for the sake of appearance.

During the four days we are together, you’ll be looking at your life, your relationships, your body of work and your contributions through the single lens of vibrational frequency – what vibration are you putting out into the world? How can I integrate what really matters into my daily life? And in what ways can I make it all count in creating my legacy?

The idea is that you will have the space and support to be ‘messy’ with your not-knowing, releasing what you no longer need and discovering how to connect the framework of your life and values in new ways. You’ll see where you can merge work and play in new ways because that’s exactly what we will be doing – deep inner work to release resistance while enjoying nature and creating new connections. The whole point of getting away is to get out of your day-to-day to get crystal clear about how you work best, what your soul’s pace requires and how you want your legacy to unfold.

In terms of focus areas, the open curriculum will be around how to Relinquish, Reflect, Restore and Reset. There will likely be guest speakers to provoke new thinking and expand your possibilities. And we will have plenty of recess (just like when you were in grade school!) because the bottom line is that fun creates flow.

We will consider the keys of being your legacy, seeing the world around you in new ways as a mirror and what it means to have more trust in the people around you. You will transform your relationship to give and do for yourself from a place of abundance and desire. Making yourself your own priority is neither extravagant nor selfish; in fact, it’s the only way to fully self-actualize in order to live your legacy now.

The Transformation

Altogether, this retreat experience is about recognition, appreciation and clarity in order to come back to your life with a greater appreciation for what is in your life and the people who continue to shape it.

There’s space to not understand something and to just be with it rather than trying to pretend that it doesn’t exist or fix it. In fact, this isn’t about fixing anything. This is about BEING or the process / practice of being your legacy.

This retreat will solidify your decision to be all-in for the sake of your legacy, to BE it full-out every day all day. There is no more beating up or bullying yourself; instead, everything now is simply contrast. The contrast serves to show you where you can have greater alignment – that’s all.

You’ll likely have a mindset shift about your values, priorities and choices. You will find your flow and your daily practice of being your legacy. You will GET that your only work is to exude your leadership for what really matters and to trust the people and opportunities that come in to support that. And you will have a greater awareness of your inner capacity for giving to yourself, to others and to your legacy.

All in all, inner alignment yields huge outer results.

The Details

Given that this retreat has the potential to shift everything in your world, we will be doing a little preparation in advance together via two personal 1:1 sessions. And we will ‘book-end’ that with two additional 1:1 sessions afterward to help ‘anchor’ what came forward for you.

So the Maximize Your Legacy Retreat includes the four-day experience, including accommodations, meals and materials, as well as four personal 1:1 sessions. (Please note that it does not include your travel to and from the retreat.)

In terms of your investment, that will vary depending on the location. (That allows me to pass along all savings and benefits of each location vs. making it a standard rate.)
